More About this Project

A global aircraft support provider was looking to modernize the in-cockpit tablet setup across their fleet by upgrading outdated iPad holders. The goal was to replace existing mounts that utilized the legacy RAM 1" ball system without requiring a complete overhaul of the current infrastructure. They needed a custom solution that could seamlessly integrate with the existing mounting hardware, offering a secure and accessible place for pilots to position their tablets during flight operations. The updated holders had to be durable, easy to install, and optimized for functionality in the confined, high-demand environment of the cockpit—ensuring pilots could focus on their tasks without distraction or inconvenience.
CTA Digital developed a custom iPad holder engineered specifically to integrate with the client’s existing RAM 1" ball mount system. We secured a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) early in the process to ensure alignment with stringent aviation standards. The final product was not only built to meet the functional and safety demands of the cockpit environment, but also custom-branded and offered to the client with exclusive distribution rights.
Our team of experts guided the project from concept through production, including mold development, iterative prototyping, and pre-production testing. The customer was able to roll out over 500 custom iPad holders and revamp their existing setup. Throughout the project, we upheld rigorous quality assurance protocols to deliver a dependable, flight-ready solution that exceeded expectations.
